[Once he was standing still, Eleanor hesitated, sucking in a breath. She was sure she could do this...pretty sure, anyway. She let out the breath, drew another in slowly...and then he'd feel a suddenly shift in her weight, and rather than on his back, she was suddenly on his shoulders. Standing on her hands. Feet pointed at the sky.]
It worked!
[She seemed as surprised as he. After perhaps a second balancing there, she made a little 'hup' noise and sprung up off his shoulders, doing a backflip in the air, then another, catching herself on the ground with her hands and a little muttered yelp, as she sprang backwards...and fell on her rear in the grass.]
[ Kiryu holds still while she pulls of her balancing act. Damn, that takes some serious strength to balance like that. Just because she didn't stick the landing doesn't make it any less impressive. ]
Woah, that was cool. Did you get stronger because of Retrospec, too?
[She stood up slowly, frowning at her hands, which were now dirty and a bit scraped up. She sighed, wiping them on her jeans.]
Stronger? Not...really. Just with jumping and bending and climbing and...all of that.
[She hadn't really thought about it as being stronger, but he was probably right, since she had to be stronger to throw herself around like this, right?]
I suppose maybe? Although I've certainly not built any new muscle mass or anything...
[Eleanor was maybe 115 pounds soaking wet, and a bit on the 'too thin' side of the scale for her comfort.]
Oh yeah, got those two in spades. [Eleanor laughed softly.] I just don't feel stronger. But who knows, right?
Still figuring all this out. [She hesitated.] I mean, it's cool, but at the same time...it's like having someone else's secret implanted on me, you know?

I think I was some kind of badass, before.

[She laughed again, as they were reaching the far end of the park.]
Want to see a trick?
no subject
[ He nods. It sounds like he's gonna see a fun Retrospec thing. ]
no subject
[She gestures to an empty spot off to the side of the park.]
no subject
Over here?

I know what you mean, though. Sometimes I still have trouble knowing my own strength. It's pretty weird, with how fast it happened.

Still figuring all this out. [She hesitated.] I mean, it's cool, but at the same time...it's like having someone else's secret implanted on me, you know?

[ He shrugs. ]
The memories I've gotten all feel like... like I lived them. So I dunno. I can't decide if they're from a past-life or what.
no subject
[Eleanor shook her head.]
But she's not me. Even if...it feels like it. It's just like a dream, even if it feels real at the time that hardly means it is.
no subject
[ He's honestly curious. He's fairly set on the "this is real" team, but he won't argue another person's opinion. They could both be wrong. ]
Any particular reason why?
no subject
Because...we think differently. When she's doing sometihng, when I'm remembering it, it feels natural...
But when I'm not, when I'm looking back at it, it...they aren't choices I would make, I think.
[She hoped, anyway.]
no subject
[ His did too, to be frank. But he's warming up to his old way of thinking, a little bit... ]
Were they bad ones, or were they ones you don't understand?
no subject
Both? I think. I know she had reasons but...I don't really know what they were.
no subject
I can get that. In my memories... I've remembered some weird stuff, but I seem so sure about them. I just figure whatever reason I had was a good one.
