[ I mean, they're in the Tojo Clan together, that much is obvious. Kiryu just needs some time to make this about himself... ]

Ya had your own life, Kiryu. It wasn't always about me. An' that's -- that's fine. It didn't haveta be.

[ Kiryu knows Majima's right, for all that they remember being close and sharing so many things. Still, the way things are now is better. It'll be better if he can prevent anything like that from happening. ]

It won't happen like that this time.

[ majima's quiet for a long moment while he thinks this over. thinks about how kiryu might act after this. what it'll mean for both of them. finally, when he speaks, his voice is confident and sure: ]

I want ya ta promise me somethin'.

[ Kiryu responds quickly, wanting to do as Majima asks. ]

What is it?

[ majima looks at him, strong and meaningfully. ]

Promise me that ya aren't gonna go followin' me around like I'm some kinda breakable object.

[ Kiryu's eyes widen in surprise. He can't say he wasn't thinking it, but Majima must know him pretty well to have called it. ]

I... no, I won't do that.

[ He shakes his head again. ]

I know you're strong, Majima. I know things are different here.

[ he does know kiryu pretty well. but he's glad kiryu isn't stubborn and agrees to the promise. he squeezes his hand. he's not done yet. ]

Promise me, ta the best of your ability, that ya won't hold onta this regret.

I'll try.

[ He squeezes Majima's hand, keeping his eyes trained on his. Majima had lost an eye to all this. He knows what he's talking about. ]

It's... It's like what you said. With a life like ours, it was bound to happen.

[ He pauses, collecting his thoughts. ]

I'll try, Majima.

That's right.

[ he leans forward and kisses kiryu on the lips, slow and drawn out before pulling away just enough to talk to him. ]

I'm here, now. An' I'm yours, as long as you'll have me.

[ He can't ask Majima to be careful, or to ask him for help if he ever suspects he's in real danger. Those things aren't realistic for who they are, and Kiryu knows he wouldn't want to change Majima. He loves him for who he is. ]

Okay.

[ Kiryu kisses back, languidly tasting Majima like he might memorize him like this. ]

Me too. That's not gonna change.

I know.

[ or, at the very least, he knows kiryu wants to mean it. which is just as good. ]

As long as you'll have me, I'm here for you.

[ Maybe Majima will die, or maybe he won't. They're not at a point where they're in any danger of that, at least. They both survived monsters. They can do this. ]

I'm yours, too.

[ majima kisses him again, moving his hand from the side of his face to his chest. he wants to touch him, i'm sorry. he loves his boyfriend. ]

[ Look, it's fair, Kiryu's super ripped and touching him is just one of those sweet boyfriend perks. He welcomes the touch and deepens the kiss, gripping Majima's neck as he pulls him closer. At least here, he has Majima. He won't lose him if he has anything to say about it.

The other stuff can wait. ]

[ yeah he doesn't need to be asked again, he climbs into his lap and kisses him hard. ]

[ Sweet. I mean, kissing is way better than knowing Majima probably died. Kiryu scoots to make sure Majima's comfortable on top of him and holds him close as they kiss. If he has Majima, he knows things will be alright. Even if they turned out to be enemies or whatever else the memories might bring, the relationship they have is more important. Kiryu couldn't do this alone. ]

[ okay really realistically they're going to do it because they're sad and needy, but after they're done with that: ]

I'm not goin' anywhere, okay?

Yeah.

[ Kiryu pulls Majima close, smiling softly. ]

Me neither.

I don't want ya ta be scared, okay? I can hold my own. I'll fight ya ta prove it!

[ how does he still have stamina for this ]

I know.

[ But he also isn't going to turn down a fight??? Guys... put your pants back on at least... Kiryu will certainly zip up before continuing. ]

Bring it on.

[ majima fishes his pants up off the floor and does at least pull them back on before raising his fists ]

Ah, come on Kiryu-chan! Let's do it.

[ Kiryu smiles. Obviously they're gonna fight shirtless, how else would they fight? Kiryu rolls his shoulders and swings a punch aimed at Majima's face.

Gotta start hard, yeah? ]

[ majima blocks it and goes for a quick counter - he's definitely not letting him get away with the first punch come on ]

[ Ah, always that speed... Kiryu loves that. He takes the blow but he goes for his own counter to it, whipping around to try and kick him in retaliation. ]
