Yeah, I'm doing a lot better, actually. I've helped close a lot of sales in the last two weeks, so things are looking good.

[ Who knew a change in attitude could help so much? ]

How's business at the club?

[ majima smiles!! hearing that makes him happy!! ]

Shit's so much better now that we're not all fuckin' tiny.

[ Kiryu smiles because Majima smiled and that's cause for celebration. ]

Oh, man, yeah... That week was awful. [ He looks down at his hands, taking the chance to grab some chopsticks while he frowns a bit. ] I managed to pull through thanks to that RC car I got off Amazon, but everyone's numbers really tanked... How did you guys work it out back then?

We bought doll furniture -- me 'n Tuuri, we went on a whole adventure and it ended up workin' out pretty well.

...People still came by the club?

Oh, yeah, lots of regulars an' stuff. Not a lot of Retrospecters, of course.

[ Kiryu brings a hand to his chin, pondering this. ]

Right... makes sense. Even with our numbers down, everyone else at work acted like it was just a normal week.

[ Kiryu nods. ]

It's super weird. Like what does Retrospec have to do with any of that?

[ Kiryu hums in agreement. Maybe now's a good time for their miso soup to arrive. ]

Ah. Thanks. Smells great.

[ He'll just wait for Majima before he starts because there's no need for pleasantries when you can't remember Japanese. ]

[ yeah they're real* americans. he's happy to use the soup as an excuse not to talk about this -- so he starts eating it, yeah ]

Have you ever been to Japan? I can't remember if you've told me before.

[ Kiryu nods, sipping his soup and putting it down to speak. ]

Yeah, I went a few times as a kid. But I was really young, I don't remember too much of it.

Was that back when Makoto use to live there?

[ its nice getting to hear kiryu talk about himself tbh ]

Yeah, we flew over to visit my mom's side of the family.

[ He smiles. The memories are fuzzy, but they're there and they're sweet. ]

Makoto was just starting to learn English and I didn't speak any Japanese so we came up with a bunch of silly codewords and stuff. He followed me everywhere.

[ a rare, honest kiryu smile. he's been blessed ]

[ You'll get something even rarer, Majima. A very faint, very rare Kiryu blush. ]

Yeah, that's what I remember best.

Right, I think so too. I was really glad when I got to come to Recollé and live closer to him again.

Yeah. [ He chuckles. ] It's hard to believe Makoto really feels that way about me... I'm still surprised sometimes.

Underneath that nerd exterior is a tiger fightin' badass.

[ Oh, now Kiryu's really blushing. A compliment like that from Majima makes him splutter a bit, almost choking on the last of his soup. How embarrassing... ]

I mean.. . in theory, I'd—that'd be cool. I don't think I'm there yet.
