Just kind of... landmarks, I guess? There's a big gate that lights up, and a park in the north where all the homeless people live. There were batting cages and a bowling alley and places where the buildings are so close together it's practically just an alley full of little shops.

[ That would be the champion district? ]

Yeah, I guess I must have spent a lot of time there if I was able to remember things like that.

[ He writes down a few more notes about it. ]

I hadn't heard anything about Okinawa mentioned before then. It was just during this one cage match I had with the eyepatch guy. I guess he wouldn't talk to me unless we fought, so that was fine.

[ Kiryu thinks back. Besides the eyepatch, the dude fought with a knife. He didn't fight like Majima at all, though. ]

Yeah, it seemed like it. He mentioned that we hadn't fought each other in two years like that wasn't something that happened normally. We must've fought all the time before.

Two years is a pretty long time ta not see someone.

[ Kiryu chuckles a little. He's still a bit shocked, but it does all have a cool ring to it. ]

Yeah, I guess so. We should make sure to write things down as we remember. Try ta keep it all together.

I remembered my old boss, Tetsu Tachibana. I don't know if he was a yakuza or not. Maybe my real estate thing was a front? Or that was a few years before the rest of it.

Oh, you remembered his name? That's good.

[ he thinks about it ]

It could be a front. That seems pretty normal for the Yakuza, right?

Yeah, he seemed kind of young. But maybe he was just really badass, I dunno.

[ That seems like it would be normal, right? ]

And... I remembered getting arrested. And I remembered a lot about our tattoos, they're actually not just for show. There's this whole philosophy to them.

What's the philosophy behind yours?

Well, it's a dragon because of my name, I think. Dragons are featured a lot for their strength and force of will. But I didn't choose it myself, the artist is the one who comes up with the vision and he decides on the colors and everything. It's kind of like a contract between the artist and the person receiving the tattoo. You have to maintain it and get it touched up every few years. Taking care of it is as much of a responsibility to the client as it is to the artist who marks you for life.
